Dr. Dora Ngwang, M.D.
CEO, Co-Founder
Dr. Dora Ngwang is a double-boarded Pediatric anesthesiologist and Adult Anesthesiologist in Atlanta, GA. She is also the CO-Founder and CEO of the Soma Initiative. Dr. Dora Ngwang was born in Oklahoma City, OK. At the young age of 4 yrs old she and her family moved to Cameroon, West Africa where she was raised and spent the majority of her youth until high school when she moved back to the United States. Based on her experience both from Africa and in the United States, Dr. Dora Ngwang has come to know and appreciate the importance of education, socioeconomic disparities, and giving back. As co-founder of the Soma Initiative, she hopes to empower the youth with knowledge and education which in turn will hopefully eradicate educational inequalities leading to world change.
Dr. Michael Wangia, M.D.
COO, Co-Founder
Dr. Michael Wangia is a Dermatologist & Dermatopathologist in Central Florida. He is the Founder & CEO, Florida Institute of Dermatology. He was born and raised in Kenya. He had a great opportunity to further his studies in the United States. He recognizes the effects of socioeconomic status on educational and career opportunities in socially disadvantaged youth. He co-founded the Soma Initiative to create greater empowerment in the youth by providing access to educational resources and eradicating educational inequity.
Dr. Morgan McGhee Wangia, Psy.D.
CFO, Co-Founder
Dr. Morgan McGhee Wangia is a Clinical psychologist in central Florida working for the Veterans Health Administration. She co-founded the Soma Initiative with hopes of addressing the social and educational inequalities that inhibit social mobility for gifted and motivated youths from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Bildad Mutimba
Director of Operations
Billy was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. He is an elementary school teacher employed by the Kenya Teachers Service Commission. He teaches mathematics and social studies to middle school students. He is also the examination secretary at Kakamega Primary School. Billy has been pivotal in identifying students who are doing well academically but who are financially unable to pursue a high school education. He is the liaison between families/students and the Soma Initiative. He handles logistics associated with the selection, placement and continued support of our students as they progress academically in their various institutions.
